Prerequisite

Context
Google has integrated Google Gemini with various applications, including Gmail and Google Drive. This document outlines a solution for addressing this specific use case.
Do You Know
- Google Gemini holds ~14% of the market share in the generative AI chatbot space. Reference - Link
- The Drive integration feature on Google gemini, was introduced by google on Feb 20, 2025
- This allows users to upload any files from Google Drive to Gemini.
- When end users interact with Gemini and try to choose a file from Google Drive, the traffic is redirected to the URL docs.google.com/picker/v2/home while the Referrer is https://gemini.google.com
- So to block embedding files from Google Drive, a policy can be created to block the URLs with the referrer criteria.
