Q: Where can I access this Activity in the AI Apps dashboard within the console?

A: Visibility into user activities can be found in the "Activity in AI Apps" section of the AI Usage Dashboard. 

 

Q: How can Netskope monitor and control the use of unsanctioned AI to protect against sensitive data leakage?

A: The AI Usage Dashboard is a great starting point; it allows you to uncover unsanctioned AI apps, understand the corresponding user activities, and monitor data movement to unsanctioned/non-corp app instances. 

Q: How is Netskope helping its customers monitor shadow AI?

A: The AI Usage Dashboard helps with shadow AI hunting by providing visibility into unsanctioned/suspicious AI usage; the AI Risk Assessment Dashboard helps you uncover risky AI apps being used and understand why they are considered risky. 

 

Q: Is this monitoring AI used through apps (e.g., ChatGPT Desktop, etc.) or AI used through browser?

A: The AI Usage Dashboard provides visibility into AI apps and sites accessed through browser. 

 

Q: If we have built a custom internal app (AWS Bedrock), can we classify this as an AI app for these dashboards?

A: Yes, you can assign custom categories to your custom internal apps and then leverage the "Other Category" field in Advanced Analytics Application Events to identify apps with custom categories.

 

Q: I believe this only can be used if Netskope recognizes the apps/web AI right? Lets say there is new AI that we discovered, can we also manually classify this as well?

A: Yes, by default, the AI Usage Dashboard only returns AI apps recognized by Netskope. If a new AI app is discovered, please send a new app request through "App Catalog" in your Netskope UI.

 

Q: How do we restrict instance level access to Gen AI apps like Claude, Github Copilot?

A: You can tag your instances as sanctioned/unsanctioned and then configure policies controlling interactions with these instances (e.g., Block Data Downloads to Unsanctioned Instances in Claude). 

 

Q: How do you measure the effectiveness of your AI security controls?

A: The AI Usage Dashboard provides comprehensive visibility into policy actions and user coaching trends, which is a great option to measure your AI security control effectiveness. 

 

Q: How do you balance security vs. the need to innovate and experiment?

A: Deploying coaching policies allows you to gently implement AI usage control without impacting your AI use cases and innovation.
