Objective

Demonstrate the different ways to upgrade a Publisher

 

Prerequisite

Netskope Private access entitlement

Netskope Publisher actively reporting to Management Plane

 

Context

There are two possibilities of performing a Publisher Upgrade (this means Publisher version upgrade, not OS). One can be on demand and the other can be automated through an auto update profile. 

 

  • On demand:
    • Through CLI
    • Through WebUI

 

 

We will focus on the on demand ones in this KB, however using the auto update profile is encouraged.

Through CLI:

Step 1: Verify the Publisher’s current versión. In your tenant go to Settings - Security Cloud Platform - Traffic Steering - Publisher. Take note of the current version:

Step 2 : SSH to your Publisher appliance and enter option “1. Upgrade” and “2. Upgrade Publisher Image” in the configuration wizard.

Note: If you want to apply system updates as well select option “3. Apply system updates and upgrade publisher image” instead

 

Step 3 : When the process finishes you’ll see this message:

Confirm in the WebUI the new Publisher’s version:

Through WebUI:

 

Step 1: Verify the Publisher’s current versión. In your tenant go to Settings - Security Cloud Platform - Traffic Steering - Publisher. Take note of the current version:

Step 2: Click on the 3 dots to the right of the line and select “Update”:

In the WebUI, the status will appear as “Updating”:
