KB - How to easily test roles for tenant users (Google Accounts)
Netskope Cloud Version - 128
Objective
Enable administrators to effectively test and validate custom roles prior to production deployment by utilizing Google account capabilities.
Prerequisite
Netskope Tenant
Google Email
Context
Many administrator clients face challenges testing their roles before moving them to production. Fortunately, there is a simple solution by leveraging the capabilities of Google accounts.
Article development
If you're using Google Email, you can create administrator aliases with your Gmail address. Gmail supports aliases using the format: **email+<term>@domain**.
For example, if **,administrator@mycompany.com]** is the admin user you're using and you'd like to test a new role but don’t have someone else to test with, you can simply use **ladministrator+1@mycompany.com]**.
Netskope will send an email invitation to your inbox for the creation of this new user, allowing you to quickly test and fine-tune the role according to your needs.
Example:
In this case, the main account is *****no@netskope.com, and it has the role of Tenant Admin.
Let's proceed to create a new invite in order to test a different role.
Type the administrator's email and add the term +1 to create an alias and test this new role.
You will receive an email invitation to create a new tenant user
Follow the steps described in the email, and you will have a new user in the tenant with which you can easily test the new roles for your tenant users.
Note:In this article, we leverage the capabilities of Google email. These benefits may change in the future.
