📄 Release Notes - October 2026
✅ Pro Tip: Check for features relevant to your current configurations.
✅ Features not to miss out!
This section highlights key innovations from the recent Netskope release that can significantly enhance your Adoption and Value Realization journey.
Top Highlights:
1. Standard Features
- Cloud Firewall Consolidated DNS Events: Generates one DNS event per transaction instead of separate request and response events. This reduces duplicate entries and ingestion costs in third-party SIEM tools.
- Cloud Firewall Policy Enhancements: Policies now support Source IP Egress and Access Methods conditions, giving non-web traffic the same granular control as web traffic.
- New "Paste Sites" URL Category: A new predefined category for anonymous text-sharing sites such as Pastebin. It lets you apply Real-time Protection policies and reporting to these sites separately from other web traffic.
- Remote Proxy (formerly Forward to Proxy): Modernized with full REST API v2 automation, a Next-Gen UI and staged configuration with pending-change review.
- Advanced Analytics Favorites: Mark reports and dashboards as favorites for quick access, along with redesigned Personal and Group pages.
- Netskope Client OS Support: Now supports macOS 27, iOS 27, Chrome OS 152 and Debian 13.
2. Key High-Value Features
- Endpoint AI Discovery (AI Command Center)– GA: Automatically discovers AI assets on managed Windows and macOS endpoints via the Netskope Client. AICC also now shows a unified Risk badge with a confidence indicator for AI apps, MCP servers and identities, plus separate upload and download traffic views.
- AI Guardrails On Demand – GA (Netskope Hosted and User Hosted): A standalone REST API, or a VM you deploy on-prem or in your VPC, that scans AI prompts and responses in real time. It integrates with API gateways such as LiteLLM, Kong and Apigee. The new Prompt Sandbox lets you test and tune guardrail profiles before applying them to live traffic.
- Agent Action Control – GA (formerly Agent Guardrails): Adds a User Alert action for human-in-the-loop approval of AI agent actions before they execute. Coverage is also being extended to 79 applications (Beta).
- AI Red Teaming – Multilingual Testing: Adversarial safety testing now covers 23 languages, with custom prompts in any language, code-switching evasion attacks and side-by-side Attack Success Rate comparison.
- Endpoint DLP Expansion: Adds Browser Application Control and AirDrop Content Control for macOS, Printer Content Control v3 (GA) for faster Windows print inspection, and Windows EPDLP agent support for ARM64.
⚠️ Important Changes to Note
- Printer Content Control v2 is no longer supported from R142. Use PCCv3, or stay on R141.1 if you still need v2.
- Quarantine action removed from classic Real-time Protection policies. Existing policies using it reset to Block when next opened for editing.
- DLP engine maintenance: Netskope is updating the engine component used for file type detection and content extraction. Some extracted metadata fields (such as "Author" and "format") will change, and detection results may shift. Verify your DLP rules and severity thresholds after deployment.
- SSPM: 40 rules will soon be removed from the Netskope Best Practice category. This may affect your posture score if your policies use that filter.
- Rollout: Deployments take place over a one-week window, so features may not appear in your tenant immediately.
