Features not to miss out!

This section highlights key innovations from the recent Netskope release that can significantly enhance your Adoption and Value Realization journey.

Top Highlights:

Securing MCP communications with AI gateway: This feature allows the Netskope AI Gateway to parse Model Context Protocol (MCP) traffic, acting as an intermediary that applies security controls between AI agents (MCP clients) and external tools or data sources (MCP servers).
Business Value:

  • visibility and Control: Provides enterprises with oversight into what private AI agents are doing when they call external tools, closing a critical visibility gap.
  • Secure Automation: Enables the safe adoption of AI agents by ensuring every tool call or resource access is authenticated and inspected.
  • Cost-Effective Security: This capability is included as part of the existing AI Gateway license.

Technical Value:

  • Comprehensive Controls: Supports authentication, rate limiting, logging, and content moderation specifically for MCP traffic.
  • Deep Inspection (DLP & Guardrails): Integrates with DLPaaS and GPU-based AI Guardrails to scan MCP tool calls and responses for sensitive data leakage or policy violations.
  • Granular Policy Framework: Administrators can create policies based on specific MCP primitives, including tool names, prompts, and resource URLs .
  • Detailed Analytics: SkopeIT provides visibility into MCP-specific fields such as Method (e.g., tools/call), Task ID, Session ID, and the specific model being requested .

Note : Feature requires an add-on license. Contact your Account SE for license details

Granular Access Methods for Edge Proxy: Netskope is replacing the generic "Explicit Proxy" label with granular Access Methods to differentiate between high-trust and low-trust connection sources.

  • Note : Feature requires an add-on license. Contact your Account SE for license details

Business Value: Provides administrators with finer control over data access policies based on how a user is connecting to the network.

This Granular access is particularly valuable for organizations looking to:

  • Specific Entry Points: Identifies traffic as PXC (Proxy Chaining from on-premise) or CEP HTTP Trusted/Roaming (corporate vs. remote IPs).
  • Differentiated Policy Enforcement: Administrators can create Real-Time Protection (RTP) and SSL policies that trigger only for specific methods—for example, allowing sensitive data via PXC while blocking it for Roaming users .

Screen Share Guard : A privacy-first security layer for the Netskope Enterprise Browser designed to prevent the accidental exposure of sensitive data (PII, financial info, credentials) during virtual meetings like Zoom, Teams, or Google Meet.

Business Value: Minimizes the risk of "accidental leaks" and insider threats during screen sharing sessions without interrupting the user's presentation flow.

  • Note : Feature requires an add-on license. Contact your Account SE for license details

Technical Value:

  • Hybrid Engine: Combines heuristic regex pattern matching with a lightweight ML core to analyze tab content upon page load .
  • Privacy Overlay: Automatically applies an opaque gray mask over detected high-risk content while keeping the tab title and URL visible for the presenter’s navigation .
  • Hybrid Extraction: Supports both standard HTML pages and large PDF documents (up to 100MB) using an Accessibility Tree (AXTree) snapshotting strategy .

⭐️ Customer Favourite This Month: Netskope AI Security

Netskope AI Security provides comprehensive visibility and multi-level services to secure employee access to Generative AI applications. By protecting the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of AI systems, Netskope allows organizations to defend against misuse and attacks while maintaining a secure digital infrastructure.

Here is a list of key AI Security features:

  1. AI Access Control & Visibility – Netskope identifies 1,800+ Gen AI apps, allowing organizations to manage user interactions with activity-based and instance-based policies. A centralized dashboard provides detailed usage analytics for AI SaaS and web traffic, enabling teams to permit or restrict AI usage based on defined attributes.
  2. AI Gateway (Beta) – Acting as a secure software layer between AI agents and models (including OpenAI, Google Gemini, and Anthropic Claude), the AI Gateway intercepts app-to-app traffic. It provides critical security capabilities such as authentication, rate limiting, and prompt/response filtering for both cloud and on-prem deployments.
  3. AI Red Teaming – This service provides vulnerability assessments to secure LLMs before deployment. It allows teams to simulate adversarial attacks to pinpoint flaws in alignment and robustness, proactively identifying risks like prompt injections, jailbreaking, and privacy violations.
  4. AI Security Guardrails – An inline security module that protects against specific AI threats. It enforces content moderation for responsible AI usage by detecting inappropriate content, bias, or copyright data, ensuring compliance with corporate safety standards.
  5. Risk Framework Mapping – Netskope’s AI inspection engine classifies prompts and responses by mapping them directly to the MITRE ATLAS and OWASP Top 10 LLM frameworks. This empowers security professionals with actionable guidance based on real-world adversary tactics targeting AI systems.
