Identify Office Locations by Source IP Addresses

  This dashboard helps you understand if individuals in your organization are working at the assigned office locations by converting Source IP Addresses to Office Locations.    Let's take a look at a sample use case. When doing budget planning for next year, Netskope wants to understand how many of their employees are working at the office on a weekly basis. Source IP is a good starting point, but Netskope is looking for a better view into the exact "office name" for each IP. This dashboard can help!   In the edit mode of the first widget "User Source Locations," we can find the custom dimension "Office Location" by expanding the "Custom Fields" section on the left hand side.   This custom dimension converts Source IP to the corresponding Office Location. By clicking "Edit," we will then be able to further customize it based on our needs.    Here, we have Source IP = 104.x.xx.xxx with the corresponding Office Location = STL Office. In this case, if

Users located in Risky Countries

Despite the chagrin of employees, Return to office (RTO) is the rage these days. Employees are expected to work from their designated locations, and not expected to work from a beach in the Bahamas (say), when they had promised the employer that they would be working from the corporate office located in Miami.  Why is this important? - Potential violation of contractual agreements, tax purposes, and of course - security and handling of sensitive information. Now how do you determine if a user is not flouting company rules and working from unapproved locations ? This dashboard aims to surface the application risk in your environment. Cloud Firewall Dashboard - Updated

This is an update to the already improved Cloud Firewall Dashboard that was uploaded last year. I've made a few tweaks to improve the filtering for more efficient usage. This improves upon the Cloud Firewall Discovery dashboard in the Netskope Library by now having users, traffic, policies, top allowed protocols, top blocked protocols, top users and source IP for allowed and blocked traffic, top blocked DNS domains, top users with blocked DNS domains, top DNS allowed domains, etc. You can now filter all of the data or different widgets independently depending on your needs:More visibility into DNS specific activities, especially if you're using Cloud Firewall's DNS Security:Give it a try!

"Conditionally" schedule a widget

  Let's take a look at a real use case: "I want to create a widget of all users with 1000+ alerts and schedule it to be delivered on a daily basis only when there are users detected. How can I do this in Advanced Analytics?" This question can be addressed by applying "conditional schedule" to the widget.    We start by creating a widget with “Alerts” data collection. The only two fields needed are “User” and “# Alerts.” To get users with 1000+ alerts, apply the filter “# Alerts is greater than 1000.”   Once the widget is completed, click the gear button and choose “Save and schedule,” you will then be able to save the widget to your personal or group folder.    By hitting “Save & View Widget,” you can now view the widget we just created. Click the gear button again and choose “Schedule,” you will then be able to schedule the widget to be delivered based on your needs.   By expanding the “Advanced options” at the bottom of this page, you

Advanced Analytics - Persistent Customization

I hope I'm overlooking something basic again, but...I would really love to see a way that some properties could be defined once and reused across multiple reports.   Not just at the widget level.   I'm thinking more granular.   I would love to just define a custom extraction once and have it available in the Custom section for every future explore of the same logtype.    Similarly, I would love to define "my domains" (or any other relatively static value) as a variable and have it available for every future report. This would be especially useful for the Netskope Library.   Many of the default reports all have the same "copy this report, edit that, and save a new version" guidance; but often what is being edited is the same 2 -3 sets of data.   If these were able to reference a common variable, there would be no need to reverse engineer the reports every time a new version is released.

Address duplicate data/rows in your visual

  Duplicate data can sometimes blow up a visual. For example, Aaron is looking for a list of apps detected in his environment and the corresponding category of each app, so he created a table with "Application" and "Category" using Advanced Analytics.    The table works, but also brings a problem. Some apps (e.g. ChatGPT) have multiple categories, which generates many duplicate rows in the table. For each app displayed, Aaron wants to know if there are any methods to show all categories in a single cell of the table.   We can do this with the "List" feature. In the widget edit mode, click the 3-dot button next to "Category," select "Aggregate," and then hit "List of unique values."   A custom field "List of Category" will be created automatically. By removing the original "Category" field and apply the new "List of Category," all categories for each app will be displayed in a single cell. Issue resolved! Visualize how many days that a user is located outside of the assigned location

  This dashboard provides visibility into how many "consecutive" days that a user's source country is outside of a particular region, which helps you monitor and manage your organization's data movement. Take the United States as an example here. For each user, the dashboard shows the number of "consecutive" days that the user is located outside of the United States. Weekends have been removed from the day count.   To view the data with other countries, please change the Source Country filter in the widget edit mode.   The dashboard has been attached below.
